ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 2026      

  

ATHLETICS:  

  • Congratulations to the Wildcat baseball team for their 5-4 win over Live Oak yesterday. Game 2 of the series will be today at 6pm.  Please come out and show your support as our Wildcats try to advance to the next round of the playoffs. 

  • Congratulations to the following track and field athletes for their places at the district yesterday.  These athletes have advanced to participate in Regionals.  

  • Pole Vault: Eli Hegwood placed 1st and Adalyn Rider placed 3rd

  • Boys' Triple Jump: Kameron Rheams placed 1st and Kermit Jackson placed 4th

  • Girls 100 & 200mm: Arielle Patterson placed 4th in both races.

  • Boys' 110 Hurdles: Maleik Georgetown placed 4th.

Eli Hegwood and Kameron Rheams were both District Champions. Congratulations!!! 


ALL STUDENTS:  

  • The Walker High School swimming team will have a meeting today for returning swimmers and students interested in joining the swimming Program. The meeting will be at 6 PM in the cafeteria. 

  • WHS Boys Soccer tryouts will be held on Wednesday, April 29th and Thursday, April 30th at Walker High School stadium from 6pm-7:30pm. Any student wishing to tryout can grab a signup form in the annex as well as get a physical prior to tryouts.

  • Attention:  AP Students and MCJROTC Students - If you have met the eligibility criteria, you can order a letterman jacket on Friday.  AP students should see Mrs. Wade in room 1005 to pick up an order form.  MCJROTC should ask Lt. Col. Tubbs or First Sgt. Johnson for an order form. 

  • Students, don’t forget letterman jacket orders will be taken today in the new gym lobby during all lunch shifts. 

  • Students, make-up photos for the yearbook will be taken on Monday during 1st and 2nd block to anyone that did not take one at the beginning of the semester. You must be in a school uniform top so if you will be wearing a different top on Monday due to club photos, please make sure you have a uniform top for your yearbook photo.

  • Students and Faculty the Walker High Wind Ensemble will have a concert tonight featuring special guest vocalists Mr. Mozingo and Mr. Baker.  The concert will be in the band building at 7 p.m.  You are invited to come out and enjoy a great night of music.
