ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2026      

ATHLETICS:  

·Any student interested in being on the Tennis Team for the upcoming season, there will be a mandatory informational meeting right after school on Monday Sept. 14 in room 1108A till 3:30. Please see Coach V in room 1108A if you have any questions. 

·Today, our Lady Cats volleyball team will play away at Ponchatoula. The freshmen start at 4pm, followed by JV and Varsity. Good luck Lady Cats.

·Tomorrow, our Varsity football team will play away at Erath. Tickets are on sale through Erath (not Walker High), but they also use i2Tickets.com.  You can also purchase tickets at the gate. 

·If you ordered a letterman jacket/patch last May, they have come in. You can pick them up from the Annex during your lunch or before/after school... NOT during class. 

SENIOR:

·Senior portrait make-ups will be held on Saturday, September 19th, from 9am to 1pm in the Glenn Ellis Gym. There is a $35 sitting fee. 

STUDENTS:

·Today will be SMOOTHIE THURSDAY!  Smoothies will be sold during all 3 lunch shifts. They are $6 and will be sold outside the Field House. 

·Our next 4-H meeting will be held after school on Wednesday, September 16, in Room 1115. The meeting will last until 3:30 PM.

·Interested in SeaPerch Underwater ROV?

·Following the 4-H meeting, we will have a SeaPerch Underwater ROV Informational Meeting for anyone interested in learning more about joining the team.

·Tomorrow is FCA Friday, come worship with us in the theater room 210.

ACT INFORMATION:

• Friday, September 11th is the deadline to register for the October 17th ACT without paying late fees.

• Taking the ACT multiple times increases your chance of earning TOPs & other scholarships.

• The October test is also one of the three times a year you can order your answer key to understand your strengths and areas for improvement. WHS highly recommends ordering your answer key!

• In October, we are only offering the paper ACT. Online testing will be offered again in December 2026 and April 2027.
