Announcements for Wednesday, May 7, 2025

ATHLETICS:

·         Attention Track Students: If you haven’t picked up your banquet tickets you need to get them from the Annex.  You will need them for Wednesday’s banquet.

·         We have several athletic tryouts starting TODAY!  For all tryouts, you must bring your current physical with you. 

o   Girls’ Basketball tryouts will be on May 7-9, 5-7pm in Wildcat Gymnasium. 

o   Boys Soccer tryouts will be on May 7 and 9, 6-7:30pm in Wildcat Stadium.

o   Tennis tryouts will be on May 8, 3:15-4:45 at North Park.

o   Volleyball tryouts will be on May 13 for current 10th & 11th grade students, from 3-4:30pm in the Glenn Ellis Gym.

·         The FINAL Athletic Letterman Jacket order for this school year will be on Monday, May 12th during all lunch shifts in Wildcat Gymnasium. Order forms can be picked up from the Annex and must be signed by your coach.

CONGRATULATIONS:

·         MCJROTC traveled to Daytona Beach, FL over the weekend to compete in the All-Service National High School Drill Team and Physical Training Team Championships. 

o   The Unarmed Drill team competed in the Advance Division and earned:  1st Place in Military Marching; Piper Wascom was recognized as the BEST leader in military marching for Division II.

o   The Armed team competed in the Basic Division and earned: 2nd Place in Military Marching, Quinten Owens finished 3rd place out of 21 other cadets for best leader in military marching for Division III, and we placed 3rd in Color Guard.

·         The Physical Training team competed in the Fitness Test and earned:  2nd Place among 40 teams in the 3K Team Beach Run.

ALL STUDENTS:

·         Ms. Hegwood will be offering English and Reading ACT Prep on May 27-29.  The cost is $60.  Please see Ms. Hegwood in room 1011 for more information and to answer questions. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to increase your ACT scores.

·         Next Monday, May 12th, is the deadline to turn in excuses for this grading period.
