Announcements for Monday, February 26, 2024

ATHLETICS:

·         Basketball Playoffs Update:  the boys’ basketball team plays tomorrow at Southside High in Lafayette in the regional round of the playoffs. The game will start at 6:30pm. Tickets are $5 for students and $12 for adults.  They only accept cash at the door. 

·         The Lady Cats basketball team will play at Southeastern on Thursday evening the in the semi-finals against Parkway at 6:15pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the venue with a card or online at SELU’s ticketing site.  To celebrate our Lady Cats for making it to the Final Four, students can wear a spirit shirt on Thursday with uniform bottoms.  We will have a pep rally before the Lady Cats head out to Southeastern.

·         Today, the JV baseball team will play away at Catholic Pointe Coupee starting at 3:30pm.

·         The girls’ golf team has a match today at Copper Mill.

·         Good luck Wildcats!

ALL STUDENTS:

·         The Cookie Site will be closed today and tomorrow while the students are at Convention.  It will reopen on Wednesday.

·         Today, IN EVERY BLOCK at the beginning of the block, EVERY student will be asked to restart their computers.  This is very important!

After school tutoring today with Ms. Albright has been cancelled.

·         This Friday, March 1 is Fundraiser Friday.  For $2 students may wear casual dress.  Pay your first block teacher on Friday.  Casual dress must meet casual dress guidelines.  As always bottoms must either be blue jeans without holes or school bottoms.  Shirts must be school appropriate, full length and have sleeves.  The funds raised will go to house fire victims from the Walker community.

·         On Wednesday, the United States Marine Corp recruiter will be at all three lunch shifts. Please plan to visit with him for the most current information about the Marines.

·         Have you signed up for our ACT Bootcamp yet?  The deadline to sign up is Friday, March 1st.  The bootcamp is March 5 and March 7, 2:45-4:45, immediately after school. 

JUNIORS/SENIORS:

·         During homeroom on Wednesday you will receive information about Prom.  Please make sure all fees have been paid so that you can purchase a ticket. 

SOPHOMORES:

·         Jostens will be in the new gym lobby on Tuesday during all 3 lunch shifts and after school until 6pm to take class ring orders.

UPCOMING DEADLINES:

·         Seniors, the deadline to apply for the Aveda Catwalk for Water Scholarship is March 13th!  Apply at https://avedaarts.edu/catwalk2024/.

·         Dance team tryout packets are due by Friday, March 8th. Packets are at the Wildcat Window.

·         Cheer tryout packets are also due soon. Packets are at the Wildcat Window.
