ATHLETICS:
Congratulations to the Lady Cats softball team for their 8-6 win over Live Oak yesterday. The Lady play again at home Thursday at 5pm against St Amant. Also, tomorrow, from 11am to 9pm, Rotolo’s in Walker will be giving a portion of their sales to our Lady Cats softball team. Be sure to go out to Rotolo’s on Thursday.
Congratulations to the freshman baseball team for their 10-0 win over Doyle. Today, the freshman baseball team will play at Doyle at 5pm. Tomorrow, they will play at home at 6:30pm against Destrehan. Our varsity baseball team will travel to Biloxi tomorrow to play in a tournament there this weekend.
The tennis team will play Liberty at North Park today.
Boys golf will play at Beaver Creek.
Our track and field team will participate in the Fontainebleau meet tomorrow.
ALL STUDENTS:
There is no school tomorrow. This is an in-service day for teachers. Students will return to school on Friday, March 17th.
Grade Level Superlative Voting (class favorites) starts today. You should have received a bright colored flyer with the basic instructions to vote through your hsstu email (same way you voted for homecoming). Voting ends Friday at 2:30 p.m. It is easier to do on your laptops because of the number of names for each category.
Nichols State University will be here today in the cafeteria to answer questions and to hand out information about Nichols! Be sure to stop by their table during your lunch shift.
Students, the Scheduler is closed. If you have any questions you should see your counselor during your lunch shift.
The Louisiana Legislative Youth Advisory Council is accepting applications for membership from high school students who have an interest in representing the voices of young people around the state. Applicants must be between the ages of 14 and 15. The deadline to apply is March 24th. Find the link for more information and the application on the school App under “Opportunities.”
JUNIORS:
Any current Juniors interested in the FireFighter course for next school year should pick up an application from guidance. All applications are due to the Guidance Office on Wednesday, March 23, 2023.
JUNIORS/SENIORS:
The Senior/Junior Prom will be on Saturday, March 25th. Tickets are $15 each and are now on sale at: walkerhigh.org. The deadline to purchase tickets is next Tuesday, March 21st.
SENIORS:
Seniors, Herff Jones will be here today to hand out all printable material. They will be set up in the lobby of the new gym during your lunch break.
Seniors, you will be handed a QR Code flyer during homeroom today for Senior Quotes. The deadline to submit your quotes is April 14th.
