Announcements for Wednesday, September 6, 2023

ATHLETICS:

· Congratulations to the freshman and JV football teams for their wins last night over Hammond High.

· Congratulations to the Lady Cat volleyball team for their win over Thibodaux yesterday. Today they will play W. Feliciana at home. The freshmen start at 4pm, followed by JV and Varsity. Students, put your Student Athletic Passes into use and come out to support your Lady Cats!

· Anyone interested in being part of the tennis team needs to pick up a packet from the Annex and attend an informational meeting today immediately after school in T-124. The deadline to turn in packets is September 20th.

· Those planning to play boys golf meeting should attend a meeting today after school after school 2:45-3:30 in room 1109.

· Anyone interested in wrestling, see Coach Godso in room 102 during lunch. There will be a parent meeting tomorrow (Thursday) at 6:00 in the old gym.

· There is a Bass Fishing meeting tonight at 6:30pm in Papa Johns. It will NOT be in the cafeteria where it is normally held.

· There will be a boys’ soccer meeting tonight at 6:30pm in the cafeteria.

ALL STUDENTS:

· Congratulations to Coach St. Julien for being selected as the Walker High September Teach of the Month!

· Walker High is starting a HOSA chapter for future healthcare leaders. There will be a HOSA informational meeting today after school in room 1115.

· On Thursday, a Mississippi College recruiter will be in the front of the cafeteria to answer questions and give students information about Mississippi College. He will be located inside the cafeteria during all 3 lunch shifts.

· The grade and attendance cutoff for this first interim is Friday, September 8th. Make sure you get all excuses in and make-up work completed!

· Open House has been rescheduled for Monday, September 18th at 6pm.
