Announcements for Wednesday, April 5, 2023

ATHLETICS:

· Today, the JV baseball team will play at Live Oak.

· The track & field team will be competing at Episcopal.

· The tennis team will be at West Feliciana.

· This is the last call to try out for girls’ soccer. See Coach Brenna today during your lunch shift for a tryout packet.

· The next letterman jacket order will be on April 28th during all lunch shifts. You will receive more information when we return from the Easter break.

ALL STUDENTS:

· Tomorrow is the last day of school before the Easter Break. The break is April 7-14. You will return to school on Monday, April 18th.

· Tomorrow is Fundraiser Day to raise funds for Teacher Appreciation Week. The cost is $2. Money should be paid to your first block teacher on Thursday. Casual dress MUST meet casual dress guidelines. No leggings, crop tops, or sleeveless shirts. Holes in jeans should not be above the knee.

· LPPS will be offering Driver’s Ed at Walker High April 24-April 28th. Space is limited to the first 60 students that enroll and pay. The cost is $400. You may pay online at walkerhigh.org, or cash or money order only.

SENIORS:

· Seniors: A scholarship opportunity, sponsored by Daughters of Athena, is available for those of you planning to major in Education. Please pick up an application from Ms. Wilson (room 1107), Ms. Courville (room 1106), or from the guidance office. Completed applications are due by April 26.

· Seniors, don’t forget about the Black & White dinner that will be held on April 24, 2023 at Forrest Grove at 7pm. The cost is $25 per person and can be paid for at: walkerhigh.org. Professional dress is required.

DEADLINES: We have several deadlines approaching. Check the Walker High app and announcements for more details about these deadlines.

· Sheriff Jason Ard’s scholarship application was extended to tomorrow, April 6th.

· EFCU Senior Scholarship due Friday, April 7th

· Actuarial Careers for Latino Students Senior Scholarship due April 15th

· Senior quotes due April 14th

· Senior deadline to purchase tickets to Black & White Dinner is April 18th

· Cutoff to turn in excuses and late work is April 19th

· Application for Daughters of Athena scholarship is due April 26th

· Cat Dash 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run registration due by May 1st to get a free event shirt.

· Recognition ads for the yearbook due May 8th.

· Deadline to purchase your 2022-2023 yearbook is May 8th.
