ATHLETICS:
· Friday is our first home football game. The Wildcats will play Mandeville at 7pm in Wildcat Stadium. Students please note some changes to our new stadium policies for all home events:
1. No backpacks will be allowed
2. No food or drink may be brought in
3. If you leave you must purchase another ticket to re-enter
4. No loitering will be permitted. All students must be seated in the bleachers.
5. No artificial noise makers will be allowed. This includes microphones, megaphones, and boom boxes
6. No Baby Powder will be allowed
All students will be expected to follow all guidelines outlined in the Walker High School Student Handbook. Please note the full list of WHS stadium guidelines on our athletics page or Facebook! Looking forward to a great season start with our Student Supporting our Wildcats!!!
· Tonight, we will have student appreciation night at the volleyball game vs. Central Private. Student tickets are only $1 and can be purchased at i2Tickets.com. Students will also receive a free slice of pizza with paid admission at Thursday’s game. Those with student passes will also receive a free slice of pizza. Let’s pack the house tonight and cheer on the Lady Cats!
CONGRATULATIONS:
· Congratulations to Nadeshda Rolon for placing 3rd in Compass and Pacing at the FFA Grant Invitational.
ALL STUDENTS:
· Students, today we will be on an amended homeroom schedule. The bell will ring early to leave 1st block and report to homeroom to receive your student ID. You are to begin wearing your ID immediately. If you did not receive an ID we will keep you posted when those IDs will be made.
· Today, we will have a Mississippi College Recruiter here during all lunch shifts. Stop by the table in front of the cafeteria to visit with the recruiter and get more information on Mississippi College. An ITI recruiter will be here tomorrow.
· Walker High is partnering with Mighty Moms and is conducting a food drive for the month of September. Can goods such as soups, beans, and vegetables can be brought in to be collected by your 1st block teacher. These donations will be counted and the 1st block with the most collected donations will win a donut party.
UPCOMING IMPORTANT DATES AND DEADLINES:
· Senior photo make-up day is Saturday, September 16, 9am-Noon.
· Open House will be Monday, September 18th at 6pm.
· Wednesday, September 20 is Teacher Professional Development. No school for students.
· The Gates Scholarship is due tomorrow, September 15th.
· We the Future Scholarship is due September 17th.
