ATHLETICS:
· Congratulations to our varsity football team for their win over Woodlawn. Tonight, the freshmen and JV teams play Central here at home. Freshmen start at 5pm, followed by JV. This week the varsity team will play away, at Central on Friday.
· Congratulations to cross-country runner Peyton Levy on his first place finish out of 218 runners at the Episcopal Round Table on Saturday. He is only the third runner from Livingston Parish to win the event in 46 years. Great job Peyton!!!
· Today, the volleyball team will play away at Ascension Christian. JV will start at 5pm, followed by varsity. Good luck Lady Cats!
CONGRATULATIONS:
· This Saturday, Walker JROTC hosted 22 teams from 13 schools from Texas, Mississippi, and across Louisiana for our annual Raider Challenge. Walker took first place in both coed and male divisions. Cadet Braiden Manuel won the male Ultimate Raider and Cadet Sarah Duncan took second in the female Ultimate Raider. Congratulations Raiders!
ALL STUDENTS:
· Students, tomorrow is a professional development day for teachers so there is no school. Classes will resume on Wednesday!
· Special dress Friday’s for October are now on sale. The cost is $10. Payments can be made through the online school payment system … the same place that student fees are paid. If you did not purchase special dress for the fall participation then the deadline to pay for October’s participation is this Friday, September 20th.
· Be sure to check out the tutoring schedule on the app so you can take advantage of the opportunity. Today, there is after school tutoring for Algebra I in room 1117 with Ms. Achord. You can find out Wednesday’s tutoring schedule on the app!
· Students, homecoming is coming up!!! Be sure all your student fees are paid so that you can purchase a ticket. More information about homecoming will be distributed on Wednesday.
FRESHMEN:
· Freshmen, if you ordered a yearbook from Westside last year and haven’t picked it up from the Annex you need to do so as soon as possible. Those that we have remaining will be returned to Westside this week.
SENIORS:
· Seniors, if you did not take your senior portraits this summer, the make-up session will be next Saturday, September 21st, 9am-noon, in the school cafeteria. Be sure to bring a $20 sitting fee when you come. This is the last opportunity to have your portraits done at school.
