Announcements for Monday, March 11, 2024

ATHLETICS:

·         Congratulations to the baseball team for their wins this weekend. Today, the varsity baseball team will play East St. John here at home starting at 6pm.

·         The tennis team will play at Lutcher today.

·         The girls’ golf team has a match at Copper Mill and the boys golf team has a match at Clark Park.


CONGRATULATIONS:

·         MCJROTC Drill Team competed in the Central Louisiana Maneuvers Inaugural Drill Competition over the weekend. The Wildcat Drill Team was the Overall Champions for this meet.  The Wildcat Raider teams travel to Bogalusa, March 16th for the Louisiana Raider State meet.  Great job MCJROTC!


ALL STUDENTS:

·         Students, you are reminded that this Wednesday, March 13th, is the grade and attendance cutoff for this interim.  Be sure you have turned in all excuses and make-up work for those teachers that accept late work.

·         In the summer of 2025 Madame Kennedy will be offering a tour to Paris and Rome. There is an opportunity to earn college credit while exploring Europe too! There will be an informational meeting on March 28th at 6:30 in Room 106 North Campus.  The spots are limited so be sure to attend! 

·         Tomorrow, all 9th and 10th graders will be taking the pre-ACT test. All 11th graders will be taking the ACT. 

In order to be ready for testing, please:

·         Be on time Tuesday! 

·         Report directly to your testing room once 1st bell rings.  If you do not know where you are testing ask any teacher today and they can help you. 

·         All students testing must bring their charged computer and charger to test.

·         You must have school or picture ID for the test.

·         Bring your own approved calculator.

·         Bring a pencil for scratch work.

·         Get a good night's sleep and eat breakfast.

·         NO CHECKS OUT WILL BE ALLOWED DURING TESTING.

·         Make sure you do your best!  This will impact your future!

 

For 12th grade students … you may use this day to do college visits at major universities or technical colleges.  12th graders may also choose to job shadow for your future career on this day.  In order for your absence to be excused, seniors must complete the Google Form located on the announcements in the app.  This will serve as your excuse for the day.  If a senior misses school on Tuesday and does NOT complete this form, your absence will be unexcused (unless you submit a doctor’s excuse).  Should you have any questions, please email Ms. Kelly Becnel at kelly.becnel@lpsb.org. Forms must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday in order to receive that excused absence.

 

UPCOMING DEADLINES:

·         TODAY is the deadline to purchase prom tickets and turn in clearance sheets to the annex.
