Announcements for Friday, April 19, 2024


·         Congratulations to our Track & Field team for their success at the District 5-5A Track Meet!  We qualified in 17 events for Regionals and our Men’s team placed 2nd overall. We also had 11 PRs. Your regional qualifiers are:

o   Women:

§  Caitlynn Morgan – 1st Pole Vault

§  Grace Ross – 2nd Pole Vault

§  Addison Amedee – 2nd Triple Jump

§  Peyton Childress – 4th Shot Put

§  Cayden Jones – 3rd high Jump

§  Aidon Brumfield – 1st Pole Vault

§  Rhoby Graham – 3rd Pole Vault

§  Bryson Thomas – 1st Discus

§  Maddox Reine – 1st Javelin

§  Kentrell Scott – 2nd 110H and 2nd 300H

§  Cade Michael Ard – 2nd 100 and 1st in 4x200

§  Peyton Levy – 2nd 1600 and 1st 3200

§  Preston Borne – 4th 1600 and 3rd in 4x100

§  Jacob Mackey – 4th 200

·         Tonight, we start Round 1 of the baseball playoffs vs. Haughton High. Tonight, we will start at 6pm, gates open at 5pm. Tickets can be purchased through:  Remember, since this is the playoffs your student passes are not valid. You will need a ticket.  The 2nd game of the series will be Saturday at noon.  Come out and support your Wildcats as they start the playoff rounds!

·         Letterman jackets and patches will be ordered on Thursday, April 25th. Don’t forget all order forms must be pre-approved by your coach or teacher sponsor.

·         Anyone interested in trying for next year's Color Guard should pick up tryout packets at the Wildcat Window or the band room.  There will be two days of clinics to learn how to spin, and then you will learn a routine.  We will teach you all you need to know.  If you have any questions, reach out to our current Color Guard members.  



·         Students, the next grade and attendance cutoff for this interim is Monday, April 22nd. Make sure all excuses and any late assignments (that you have permission to turn in late), are done so by Monday!!!

·         Students, if you have qualified for Perfect Attendance please check to make sure your name is on the list. A list is posted at the Wildcat Window and at the Annex. If your name is not on the list and should be, please let us know!

·         WHS will host STEAM for the Earth tomorrow beginning at 8am in the new gym. It is free and open to the public. See Mrs. Wagner for more details. 

·         Today, we will have an Exxon Mobil recruiter in the cafeteria during all lunch shifts to give out information about job opportunities available through Exxon Mobil.


·         Senior Clearance Sheets will go out on Monday during 1st block. Make sure you have taken care of your fees and guidance paperwork so you are ready to clear!
