Baseball Coach Bios
HEAD COACH - PITCHING
Coach Sandifer is in his 32nd year coaching and his 8th year as the head coach of the Wildcats. Coach Sandifer has previously coached at University of West Alabama from 1988-1991, Marksville High School from 1991-1993, Robert E. Lee High School from 1993-1998, Silliman Institute from 1998-2005, Live Oak High School from 2005-2010, and Walker High School since 2010. Of his 32 years, Coach Sandifer has been a head coach for 24 years. Coach Sandifer is a 1984 graduate of Central High School.
Coach Sandifer pitched for University of West Alabama, getting his Bachelor’s degree in Education, as well as a Masters of Arts and Teaching. In addition to coaching baseball, Coach Sandifer teaches Environmental Science at Walker High School. In 2019 Coach Sandifer won his 350th game as a Head Coach.
Coach Sandifer was raised in Baton Rouge and currently resides in Central with his wife of 15 years, Susan Valentine, and their three children: Randyl (15), Ryne (14), and Reid (10).
Coach Carver is in his 26th year coaching, and his second year as an assistant for the Wildcats. Coach Carver has previously coached at McNeese State University from 1998-2000, at Ole Miss from 2000-2004, as well as a stint as the head baseball coach at Walker High School in 2005. Since 2005, Coach Carver has been focusing on travel baseball.
Coach Carver is a 1993 graduate of Barbe High School. Coach Carver played catcher and outfield at McNeese State University from 1993-1996. Coach Carver graduated from McNeese State University in 1998.
Coach Carver is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and currently resides in Walker with his wife, Tammy, and their 5 children.
MICHAEL DUMILLER, JR.
Coach Dumiller is in his 5th year as an assistant coach for the Wildcats. Coach Dumiller has previously coached at Westside Jr. High. Prior getting into teaching and coaching, Coach Dumiller worked in the Oil Field as an Account Manager for Production Operations for 12 years. Coach Dumiller is a 2001 graduate of Walker High School.
Coach Dumiller pitched for Southwest Mississippi Community College, then transferred to Southeastern Louisiana University, graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Athletic Training. Coach Dumiller got his teaching certification in 2018. Coach Dumiller currently teaches Basic Study Skills at Walker High School. Coach Dumiller also coaches Quarterbacks on the football team.
Coach Dumiller is a native of Walker, Louisiana, and currently resides in Walker with his 1 child, Brayden.
Coach Ragusa was born and raised in Central, Louisiana, and currently resides in Denham Springs.
HEAD COACH JV
Coach Thompson is in his 1st year as an assistant coach for the Wildcats and his 5th overall as a baseball coach. Coach Thompson has previously coached at Dunham High School in (2017) as assistant Varsity coach and Head Freshman coach, The Church Academy (2018-2019) as Head Coach. Holden School (2019-2021) as Head coach where he led the Rockets to a Co-District Championship and earning District Coach of the year in 2021. Coach Thompson is a 2008 graduate of Parkview Baptist High School where he won two Baseball State Titles in his 4 years. Coach Thompson played baseball at Meridian Community College and moved on to play at The University of Southern Mississippi where he went 7-1 with a 3.49ERA on the mound as a weekend starter helping the Golden Eagles capture a C-USA Conference Championship.
Coach Thompson finished off his athletic career at Belhaven University after sustaining a major shoulder injury where he graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration. In addition to coaching baseball, Coach Thompson teaches Entrepreneurship and Personal Finance.
Coach Thompson was raised in Denham Springs, Louisiana, and now resides in Walker, Louisiana with his two children: Cooper and Grayson Thompson.
